Caffeine is a naturally occurring stimulant that can be found in many plants, have a significant beneficial effect on our hair health which has been proven many times in independent lab studies and as well as clinical researches.

Knowing the Relation Between Caffeine and the Hair Cycle:

Hair follicles determine the overall hair health- the length, amount and looks. These hair follicles contain progenitor cells that are responsible for assembling tissues in the hair shaft to support hair growth. Moreover, hair follicles drive irritation, stages of the hair growth cycle and shedding phases that can lead to healthy hair or hair disorders.

An article published in the International Journal of Trichology back in the July-Sept. 2012 issue states that caffeine has beneficial effects on the patients of AGA (Androgenetic alopecia). AGA refers to a common form of hair thinning in both man and women. In men, it’s known as male pattern baldness and in women, hair becomes thinner and the hairline doesn’t recede.

Caffeine, on the other hand, interacts with our hair follicles. It causes our hair cells to produce more ATP- the energy source of our biological cell. When caffeine is delivered to hair follicles, it energies the molecules and other organs of the roots thus protects the precious hair follicles from being damaged- caffeine actually promotes hair growth and strengthens hair roots.

How Caffeine Helps to Prevent Hair Loss:

Hormonal factors are known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT) play a big role, especially in human hair health. DHT binds hair follicles and starves them of nutrients. DHT causes hair follicles to minimize that lead to male pattern baldness. When hair follicles become miniaturized the cycle of hair growth phase reduces and the cycle of hair resting phase becomes longer. When the growth cycle turns into shorter, hair follicles become smaller and the shafts of hair become thicker. This causes individual hair to grow in thinner and shorter. So when prolong exposure happens to the hormone, hair follicles slowly disappear from the scalp and affects the quality of hair. This means news hairs will stop growing and result in baldness. That’s why blocking and reducing the excess effect of this DHT would motivate hair cycle to remain natural.

But when caffeine binds with DHT, it helps to stop these effects and prevent hair follicles from being destroyed. Caffeine also dilates the blood vessel around our hair follicles and penetrates circulation. Thus this process motivates vital nutrients to reach strands of hair. It also reduces transepidermal water loss and builds a barrier to protect the scalp’s skin.

So now you are convinced that caffeine has lots of positive stimulants that can prevent hair loss and regenerate hair growth, the next obvious question would be: how to take these advantages? Well, a caffeine based shampoo would be the easiest and safest way to incorporate this important motivator on our hair.

Caffeine Shampoo:

When it’s about our hair, no one wants to take the risk. No matter what home remedies we use, at day end we need to wash our hair with shampoo. So why not incorporate caffeine into our daily shampoo?

But the question is- Is caffeine enough to regenerate the damaged hair follicles?Or some more stimulants would be needed to support the hair growth cycle. Along with that now the hair care industry is filled with many under graded products, stimulants and hair support systems which are neither clinically proven nor tested in independent lab studies.

Well, there are some hair care products that have shown promising results in keeping the silky mane flowing strong. So it makes sense that you want to use caffeine shampoo for battling the bald hair. Some of these hair serum shave been proven many times in blocking DHT, stimulate hair growth and repair hair cycle.

Today’s pharmaceutical-grade shampoos contain additional ingredients to help restore your hair thicker, fuller hair growth and reduce hair loss. These amazing hair loss fighting ingredients are Red Clover Extract and Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3. What are those actually and how these two contents contribute to hair health?

Red Clover Extract: It’s rich in bio chanin A and isoflavones that are a phytoestrogen flavonoid which is found very effective in hair health. It has been proven clinically that this extract helps to prevent dandruff and scalp irritation, adds volume and luster to hair. It also inhibits 5-alpha-reductase that helps to block DHT. Thus hair becomes more manageable.

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3: In simple words, ACT-3 targets the healing of tissue and reduces the process of 5-alpha-reductase. Thus it restricts the process of shrinking sensitive hair follicles and restarts the process of hair reproduction.

How to Maximize the Benefit of a Caffeine Shampoo:

Actually, caffeine needs to be on the scalp for at least 2 minutes to interact with the hair follicles. By this time it penetrates deeply and remains active around the follicles for 48 hours even after taking shower. That means drinking a few cups of coffee won’t bring any benefit unless you employee this property externally. Definitely, the easy way to do this is by applying top hair loss shampoo that contains caffeine when you get in the shower. Rinse it well with lukewarm water and apply mild conditioner or leave on scalp solution that can be applied in between shampooing to expect a better result.

Final Verdict:

This is exactly what I have done. Seriously, I wasn’t expecting any miracle but after few months I’ve noticed that few of my hairlines are started filling out. Now it has been almost 3 years I’m using Caffeine Shampoo and I didn’t think to switch into others. In addition, I changed my food habits a bit and routine to take meals that are rich in iron, iodine and low in salt.
