Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil Review

Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil Review

Hello friends,

I have been addicted to face oils these days, I have extremely dry skin and during the winter season my skin tends to dry out even more due to the harsh weather conditions…Recently I started using face oils and my skin has been loving this treat. Face oils moisturize and nourish my skin and keeps it hydrated for a long time. I have stopped using moisturizers on my skin completely as they are full of chemicals. I have started following a more holistic and natural skin care routine these days which means I have stopped using any sort of product that contains harmful chemicals. My skin care these days is all about homemade products or products that are chemical free and 100% organic. So today I will be reviewing one such product that I started using around 3 months back. It is the Juicy Chemistry Rosehip Oil.

Rosehip Oil Benefits for the Skin:

Source: draxe.com

Rosehip oil comes from the seeds of a specific variety of rose, Rosa moschata, which is the fruit left behind after a rose has flowered and dropped its petals. Rosehip oil is harvested from the seeds of rose bushes predominately grown in Chile, and is full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin, all while reducing scars and fine lines.

By using a cold-press extraction process, the oil is separated from the hips and seeds. For facial skin care, rosehip oil offers several benefits when applied externally. It protects the skin and increases cell turnover because it contains vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin D and B-carotene, a form of vitamin A, and which are all antioxidants that help fight free radicals.

Rosehip oil has signficant anti-aging benefits for your face. Super light & non-greasy, the anti-aging benefit comes from its high antioxidants and the oil’s ability to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. The vitamin C and vitamin A, in particular, stimulate collagen production. Because vitamin A has small molecules, it allows deeper penetration into the skin and improves the skin’s moisture levels — thus reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

The UV rays of the sun can damage the skin, resulting in age spots and discoloration on the face. The antioxidants found in rosehip oil combat free radicals that cause sun damage. The vitamin A, combined with the oil’s essential fatty acids, can help improve skin tone, texture and pigmentation.

Gets absorbed into the skin without leaving behind any greasiness

My Take on the Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil:

I had read a lot about how rosehip seed oil is so beneficial for the skin and how its regular use can do wonders for the skin. I ordered the Rosehip seed oil about 3 months back and I have been using this oil continuously since then twice a day. In the morning I cleanse my face with my homemade powder face cleanser, then I tone with the Forest Essentials Pure Rosewater facial mist and after that I apply about 5 drops of the rosehip oil on my entire face and neck. I massage it into my skin for 2 minutes and it gets absorbed into the skin completely without leaving any signs of oiliness or greasiness behind. It moisturizes and nourishes my skin deeply and my skin feels hydrated all throughout the day. In the evening, I again wash  my face with my powder cleanser, tone my face with green tea and then I apply 5 drops of the rosehip oil to my skin.

I have been using this oil for the past 3 months and I almost going to finish the entire through the bottle, it is definitely very moisturizing, keeps my skin hydrated but apart from that I didn’t see any improvements in my skin whatsoever. I have a few freckles under my eyes and on my nose and I have a bit of uneven complexion, my forehead is a tad bit darker than my entire face. I started using rosehip oil because I had read that it evens out the complexion, fades brown spots on the face and reduces fine lines and wrinkles but even after using it continuously for 3 months I don’t see any improvement in my skin issues. I feel it reduced the dryness on my skin but apart from that this oil didn’t live upto it’s claims at all.

Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil Review

Even if I had applied any face oil like almond oil or jojoba oil it would have hydrated my skin but I had high expectations from rosehip oil but sadly I am highly disppointed with this one. Maybe Juicy Chemistry Rosehip oil is not that great because I had read that Roehip Oil is extremely beneficial for the skin but even after using it for 3 months I cannot hardly spot any difference in my skin texture or appearance. I think I need to Rosehip Oil from other brand because this one isn’t working for me at all.

Pros of the Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil:
  • Highly nourishing for dry skin.
  • Non greasy formula.
  • Absorbs into the skin within a few seconds.
Cons of the Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil:
  • Didn’t see any improvement in my skin even after using it for 3 months.
Rating of the Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil:

2.5/5.

Will I repurchase the Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil?

Certainly not as it didn’t do anything for my skin.

Will I recommend the Juicy Chemistry Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil to anyone?

No because I didn’t see any difference in my skin after using this oil so I would not recommend this to anyone .

I am definitely going to try rosehip oil from some other brand and will post a review again of the effects of the oil on my skin. Hopefully it will be a positive review next time.
