The Balm Mary Lou Manizer: Review and Swatches
Hello guys, today I will be reviewing The Balm Mary Lou Manizer, my current favourite highlighter. I wanted this highlighter since the longest time and eventually after a year long wait I finally grabbed it. It is by far the best highlighter that I have used till date, I will rate it better than the Mac Soft and Gentle. So lets start with The Balm Mary Lou Manizer: Review and Swatches.
Meet Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow. Layer it on your eyelids for luxe-looking eyelashes, sweep it on your cheeks for a sexy sheen or use it as an all over finishing touch before you head out for the night!

My Thoughts on The Balm Mary Lou Manizer:
I have to say can I just love the cheeky and flirty names and also the quirky illustrations on the packaging of the balm products. The first thing that would attract all the buyer towards The Balm products is their packaging. They are so cute and funky. The Balm cosmetics are known for the funky packaging and the quirky names of different products. The Mary Lou Manizer comes in a flip open sleek compact case with a very good sized mirror inside, which I really like as it comes handy and is great for touch ups too. The packaging is quite sturdy and very travel friendly too. The lid closes with a click sound ensuring that it is properly closed.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer is a gold/champagne coloured illuminizer- it is neither too cool nor too warm toned and it adds such a beautigul glow from within kind of look. The golden hint in the highlighter makes it suitable for all skin tones. I am sure this highlighter will suit not only the fair skin toned but also the ones with wheatish or slightly darker skin tones.
The powder has a very silky almost creamy soft texture to it and it is highly pigmented too, just one swipe gives you a glow that can blind anyone. The powder blends in so beautifully and uniformly, leaving behind no patchiness at all. Even if you have dry or patchy skin this highlighter will blend in so beautifully without settling in the fine lines. I have dry skin but this powder sinks and blends into my skin so seamlessly, it just looks like my second skin.
This is a high shine highlighter so pick up lesser product and you can always build it up. The best thing about this highlighter is that the shimmer particle are so fine and small which gives such a natural finish on application without looking too overboard even if you go a bit heavy handed with the highlighter. This powder is finely milled and you can hardly see any fall outs. Mac Soft and Gentle has big chunky shimmer particles which makes it look a bit unnatural and glittery.

I apply this highlighter with a Morphe M 143 fan brush and it gives a very sheer, subtle highlight or glow that stays all day long with a really mild fading. You can use this on the top of a cream highlighter and it look so amazing on your face. I apply the highlighter to highlight my cheekbones, my brow bone, the bridge of my nose, center of the forehead, cupid’s bow and my chin, basically I highlight the highest points of my face with it.
You can use it during the day as well as at night time and it works well for both. I also use this highlighter as an eyeshadow to give a wash of colour on my lid and it is a perfect inner corner and brow bone highlight too.
