Mac Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere Review and Swatches
Hello everyone,
Last month when I had gone to the Mac store I did buy quite a lot of stuff from there, you can see my shopping haul HERE. I asked the MUA there to do my complete base as I wanted to invest in my base products this time. So the MUA started by applying Mac Prep+Prime on my entire face and neck, then she applied Mac Studio Finish Skin Corrector under my eyes to cancel out the darkness, after that she applied Mac Studio Finish Concealer, then she went ahead and applied Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation and lastly she set everything with the Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Powder.
I really liked the way my base turned out. It was so smooth ,radiant and natural looking. Since I really loved the outcome I picked up all the products the MUA had used on my face. So today I will be reviewing Mac Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere in the shade Radiant Yellow.
There are 2 shades available:
– Radiant Yellow-It is for girls with yellow undertones.
– Radiant Pink-It is for girls with pink undertones.

Ingredients of the Mac Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere:
My Experience with the Mac Prep+Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere:
I have been using the Mac Prep+Prime for the last 20 days and I have been loving it. Mac Prep+Prime comes in a black glossy cardboard packaging with some shimmer particle on the outside packaging with all the details about the ingredients and the price on it. The Prep+Prime comes in a tall cylindrical black plastic bottle with some minute shimmer particles on it too. It has a pump dispenser that dispenses just the right amount of product that is needed for every application.
The product comes in 2 shades-Radiant Yellow and Radiant Pink which is supposed to match the different undertones of the skin. Radiant Yellow is for someone with yellow undertones whereas Radiant Pink is for someone with pink undertones.
Applied after moisturizer but before foundation, it is designed to extend the wear time of face makeup and blur fine lines, pores and imperfections, making skin appear flawless and it provides a smooth canvas to pop your face products on top.
It is a lightweight gel primer with a texture halfway between a mousse and a creamy lotion. The product is free from silicones so it is a big YAY for me as I love silicone free products. It is really light on the skin, goes on smoothly on my skin and makes it smooth and soft. This one has minute fine gold pearl shimmery particles in it and it gives a very subtle radiant glow to my skin. The Mac Prep+Prime is light yellow in colour but the colour disappears once you apply it on your face. It adds hydration which is needed for my dry skin. It gets absorbed into my skin immediately and enhances the natural radiance of my skin.
This product does not help in sorting out the skin discoloration or any kind of blemishes,it neither claims to do so. It has a silky smooth consistency and it makes the skin feel smooth and silky too. It has Vitamin C in it which has some skin brightening properties. The Vitamin A in the primer softens the skin and the Caffeine claims to calm the skin and reduce puffiness. The Pearl powder present in it gives the face an illuminated effect.
I have dry skin so I moisturize my skin properly beforehand, leave it for 10 minutes and then I apply Mac Prep+Prime. I usually take a small amount around 1 pump of the product on my fingers, rub it between them to warm it a little bit and then I spread it all over my face and neck and gently massage it till the product is absorbed into the skin. It is not at all greasy, it lubricates my skin well and you get a nice glow. This primer provides a canvas for makeup to go on smoothly. After applying this underneath my foundation my base sticks to my face so nicely and perfectly, it stops my concealer from creasing under the eyes too. My base stays in place without fading off or without budging a bit for a good 8 hours. It fills up all the fine lines and pores on my face and evens out the face giving it an even appearance. I had never really taken the effort of applying a primer but ever since I have visited Mac I have really understood the power of a good primer.

Hi Ramya. This is yet another amazing product from Mac.
This sounds great, but it is so damn expensive.
Hi Sangeeta,it is amazing primer but I agree it is damn expensive like all other Mac products.
MAC always have amazing base makeup products like this 🙂
Mac is by far my favourite company when it comes to base makeup products. They are exceptionally good Mariyam.
I use the regular Prep + Prime. It’s one of my favorite primers. I’ll have to check this one out though. Change it up a little. 🙂
Hi Lisa,I have not tried that one so can’t comment on that but this Prep+Prime is a really great one.
I tried, and hated it….this makes my face more shiny and oily when paired with a foundation, so nowadays, I use it by itself as a moisturiser when I don’t have a base on 🙂
Really.. .I have dry skin so I didn’t face any issues of this sort.
hi i have very oily skin so which primer should i purchase MAC Lumiere OR Visage PLS AND WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN IN?
