Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream in Shade BAE and Squad: Review and Swatches

I am so so excited about today’s review, this is the first time I ordered a product on the day it was launched. I usually like to order products after reading a lot of reviews online, I don’t even remember the last time I ordered a product without reading its review. Two to three days back Nykaa lauched its Demi matte Lip Creams and the colours were so appealing and “so my” kind of shades that I could not resist buying them. Ordering new launches and posting their reviews within a week is something that I am going to indulge into pretty often now because I somehow liked the whole process of ordering the product on the day of the launch and it is so exciting to review new launches. So let’s start with the review. I ordered two shades from the Nykaa Demi Matte Lip Cream range, one is BAE and the other is Squad.

Packaging of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream:
I am in love with the packaging. The lip cream comes in a very sleek cardboard box with all the details about the product mentioned on the packaging itself. The outer packaging is half black and half is colour coded, means half of the outer packaging is in the colour of the lip cream which makes it very easy to located the lipstick in your stash. The name of the shade is embossed in bold white capital letters on the outer packaging. The packaging of the lip creams is very similar to Nykaa Matte to Last Liquid Lipstick, the only difference is that the Lip Creams have a ombre effect on the packaging.
The packaging looks very classy and chic. The lip cream comes in a very sleek rectangular packaging which I totally love. The lip cream has a tear drop applicator which has a hole in it so that it can pick up the right amount of lip cream to cover your lips in one go. The applicator is quite precise and it allows to apply the lipstick in the corners of the lips very easily. I have very thin lips and lipstick application is a task for me but with this applicator I just swipe it once across my lips and I am done. Full marks to Nykaa for the awesome packaging.
Texture of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream:
The texture of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream is somewhere between a matte lipstick and a lip gloss. The texture is very soft and creamy, the lip creams glide on the lips like a dream. The lip creams are very comfortable on the lips and they feel like a weightless mousse kind of texture. They are super hydrating and they do not dry out the lips at all. I usually like to exfoliate my lips prior to any kind of lipstick application so I would advice everyone to exfoliate their lips before application because if you apply these lip creams on dry and chapped lips they will definitely accentuate the dry patches on your lips. The lip creams have a very soft matte texture to it, feels almost like a lip balm consistency. They don’t dry up completely as they have a demi matte finish and give a very nice sheen to the lips like a lip gloss.
Pigmentation of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream:
The Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream are highly pigmented. You just need to swipe the applicator once to get the maximum pay off. I do not have any pigmentation on my lips so they give me maximum pay off in one go. If you have slighty pigmented lips dab on some foundation on your lips to cover that pigmentation and then apply the lip creams.
Staying Powder of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream:
The staying power of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream is something I am not pleased with. The staying power of these lip creams is hardly a couple of hours. I applied the lip cream BAE today in the afternoon while I was going to run some errands. I left my house at around twelve in the afternoon and by the time I came back around two huurs later the lipstick was almost gone. It left a very light stain on my lips. I didn’t have any food or any drink outside but inspite of that the lip cream was almost gone. I had to re-apply the lip cream once again. The lip creams have a very light weight and comfortable formula but they wear off too soon and that is something very annoying. You can’t keep on re-applying the lip cream after every 2 hours. The lip creams tent to bleed a bit so make sure to powder your lips before application. I just wish Nykaa would have made their lip creams formula a little long lasting. They certainly do not last for 6 hours as claimed by the brand.
Shades of the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream:
BAE:
Bae is a very beautiful pinky nude shade. I saw the shade online and fell in love with it. I knew I had to order this. I am not that much of a fan of browny nudes but pinky nudes are my kind of shades. The shade brightens up my complexion and looks very nice on my fair skin tone. I think Bae will suit fair to medium skin tones. It is a beautiful shade. Definitely a must have for everyone.

SQUAD:
Squad is a beautiful nude shade with purple undertones. I was not too sure of both the shades as I had ordered them without going through any swatches or reviews but I am so glad that both these shades are so gorgeous. I love how good Squad looks on me. It is a very subtle purple nude shade. This shade is going to be perfect for all skin tones.

My Experience with the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream:
I love everything about the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Cream, they have excellent colour pay off, they are very comfortable on the lips, they sit on the lips so beautifully, they glide on the lips effortlessly, both the shades that I ordered are so freaking gorgeous, they are fragrance free(which is one of the most important issue for my over sensitive nose), the only thing that bothers me with these lip creams is the staying power. I wish they had a good staying power so that we didn’t had to go through the process of re-application after every one to two hours. Nonetheless I am in love with them. I will try and apply some foundation and loose powder or a lip liner on my lips to increase the staying power of these lip creams, but on their own the staying power of these lip creams suck!
So if you do not like the drying effect that matte lipsticks give, you can definitely try out the Nykaa Get Set Matte! Demi Matte Lip Creams, you are going to love them.
