Sivanna Colors Pegasus Brilliant Lipstick Review

First post of 2018 and today I will be reviewing the Sivanna Colors Pegasus Brilliant Lipstick in the Shade 1 and 9. I picked up these lipsticks just because their packaging was so droolworthy, they are an exact dupe for the highly coveted and luxurious Christian Louboutin Rouge Lipsticks. I am a sucker for bright pink lipsticks and if I have to pick any shade out of the entire range it has to a bright bold pink color. So without much ramblings, lets start with the review.

The packaging of the lipstick is what attracted me to buy it. The packaging is quite similar to the Christian Louboutin Rouge Lipsticks. The lipstick comes in a matte black cardboard packaging with all the details about the product on it. The lipstick bullet does not feel cheap at all, it is made up of good quality plastic and the crown shaped cap shuts tightly with a click sound so you can carry this lipstick in your handbag for further touch ups. The lipstick bullet is metallic golden in color and has snake skin like scales all over it. There is a small hook on the top of the cap of the lipstick which can be useful to use this lipstick as an ornament. I am totally in love with the chic and classy packaging of these lippies. The only con that I can point out in the packaging is that there is no color coding or shade number on the bullet so if you loose the outer carton packaging of the lipstick you will have a hard time identifying the shade if you have a bunch of these lipsticks.

My Take on the Sivanna Colors Pegasus Brilliant Lipstick:
I had read a lot of reviews of these lipsticks online before ordering them but I must say that I am highly disappointed with these lipsticks. All the reviews that I had read claimed that these were one of the best formulations but the shades I ordered have the worst formulation that I have ever tried. They apply on the lips very smoothly means you don’t need to tug or pull the lipstick while applying them but they are very very patchy. They crumble on my lips and have a very uneven finish. The texture of the lipstick is smooth enough, they aren’t drying and sit on comfortably on the lips. They stay on my lips for 3-4 hours and leave behind a light stain once they fade off. These lipsticks don’t bleed at all. The color pay off these 2 shades isn’t good at all, I have to swipe it 2-3 times to get the maximum intensity of the color. These are not at all pigmented so if you have pigmentation on your lips these won’t be able to hide that at all. They even accentuate the lines of my lips and that isn’t a pleasant sight at all.

Shade No.1 is a very light baby pink color. This shade is a complete mis-fit for my complexion, it looked like a very nude pinky shade in the pictures but this shade is a complete “NO” for me. It might suit girls with extremely fair complexion but this shade is certainly not my kinda shade. It looks like a whitish pink shade on my lips and washes me out completely. It looks simply horrible on me and on the top of that the texture is so crumbly. Now that I have this shade I have to use it irrespective of the color and the texture. I have to make it work so I apply it on my lips, smear it with my finger to make it look smooth on my lips and then I top it up with a brown shade to make it look a pinky nude shade.

Shade No.9 is a dark neon pink shade which is one of my favourite shades but sadly it isn’t pigmented at all. The shade looks very pretty in the bullet but once you apply it on the lips it isn’t pigmented. You have to swipe it 3-4 times to get the desired shade and if you apply 3-4 coats it gets crumbled up on the lips. I swipe this lipstick once, smear it with my finger and then I top it up with Mac Candy Yum Yum to make it pop on my lips. I don’t have pigmentation on my lips at all but still they don’t cover up my lips, they are so less pigmented.

After I received these lipsticks and found them not to be in compliance with the reviews I went ahead and read all the reviews once again and I was pretty surprised that none of the bloggers had reviewed the shades no.1 and 9 which I had ordered. There were tons of reviews and every blogger had loved these lipsticks, they had loved the pigmentation, the shades, the color pay off and the texture. So I came to the conclusion that may be I ordered the wrong shades, may be the formula of these 2 shades is not that great as compared to the other shades in this range. So before deciding or giving my final verdict on these lipsticks I would definitely order one more shade to see is there any difference between these 2 shades and the entire range. Going by every bloggers review I hope the other shades will be much better. But as far as these 2 shades are concerned I would not recommend these lipsticks to anyone. I will be ordering Shade No.3 or 15 because the swatches of these 2 shades look smooth in the pictures and hopefully I will be able to post a positive review next time.

- Need to swipe it 3-4 times to get the desired shade.
Will I repurchase the Sivanna Colors Pegasus Brilliant Lipstick?
Yes, I need to give this one more shot, will try out the reds from the range.
Will I recommend the Sivanna Colors Pegasus Brilliant Lipstick?
After using these 2 shades probably I won’t recommend it to anyone. Let’s try out one more shade from the range and hopefully I will have a better opinion about these lippes.
