Obviously, there is the physical aspect. This can help create a healthy lifestyle from early on.
Then there is the socialization aspect. Working in teams, children learn about who they are, how to work together, and how to treat people better.
And last but certainly not least, there is the discipline aspect. Showing up to practice, staying committed, and making it to the games teaches kids what they mean to the team, what determination and hard work can do, as well as how to bounce back from any downfalls or losses.
I try to encourage my kids to be as involved in sports as much as I was when I was their age. I think I’ll be even more proactive and set-up a neighborhood soccer team where my kids and their friends can learn more about the sport
